A number of scholarship opportunities are available to students pursuing careers in land surveying, geomatics, mapping, and related geospatial sciences. LSAW encourages students to explore every opportunity for financial support as they prepare to enter the profession.

Featured Washington Scholarship Resource

LSAW Foundation Scholarships

The LSAW Foundation promotes educational, scientific, and charitable activities in surveying, mapping, and land information sciences by providing financial support to students entering the profession and to educators and others who advance surveying in Washington.

Scholarships are awarded annually to qualifying students pursuing careers in land surveying. Students enrolled in Washington college surveying programs are eligible, along with qualifying students at Oregon Institute of Technology, Idaho State University, and Great Basin College.

Complete application packages must be postmarked or transmitted by the deadline. Applicants should review current application instructions carefully before submitting.

National Opportunities

NSPS Foundation Scholarships

Through the National Society of Professional Surveyors Foundation, more than $97,000 in scholarships is made available to support students pursuing education in surveying and geospatial sciences.

Opportunities are available for students in two-year, four-year, and graduate programs in surveying, geomatics, mapping, GIS, geodesy, and related disciplines.

Some scholarship categories require NSPS or AAGS student membership. Review current eligibility, application requirements, and deadlines on the NSPS website.

Surveying & Mapping

George F. Walker Memorial Scholarship

The George F. Walker Memorial Scholarship Fund has supported surveying and mapping students since 1997.

Scholarships are available to full-time students pursuing an approved course of study that prepares them for a career in the surveying and mapping sciences.

LSAW participates in the scholarship program along with representatives from NSPS, ASPRS, and the academic community.

Geomatics & Surveying

Timothy A. Kent Scholarship

The Timothy A. Kent Scholarship Fund supports students preparing for careers in the geospatial professions.

Scholarships are intended for full-time students who are currently enrolled or enrolling in programs in geomatics, land surveying, or remote sensing.
